THE HYPNOTIST, 2001, 45 min

Anna Biller is one of the most unique and inventive directors working today. For over twenty years, Biller has been creating a world of her own full of colour, humour and cinephile references. Watching her films is like being hypnotized. Yet while her aesthetics are undoubtedly pleasurable, underneath her meticulously crafted design lie sharp observations on the relationship between men and women.

With her latest technicolour masterpiece in cinemas now, and her first feature (VIVA) showing on MUBI, we present an evening of the short films of Anna Biller, shown for the first time in London on the filmmaker’s own 16mm prints. Join us to celebrate the unique cinematic world of Ms. Anna Biller
